Thursday, 17 June 2021 -Johannesburg: Agencies belonging to the Matrix Communications Group (Matrix Group) of companies Anomaly – a digital agency, Joziwood – content producers and Soul Providers Collective (SPC) a local creative agency – all led by young people under 40; have are already experienced the value of collaboration to increase their client base as a result retain or even increase their teams.

The common thread experienced by these agencies is that belonging to a group offers them a network of people who have great relationships, local experts in their fields and reduced sales acquisition.

“I am optimistic that our business will grow in this current environment because we have managed to find effective and efficient ways to get work done. We are able to  work in and around the pandemic that we’re currently faced with by finding creative ways to reach audiences and consumers in an ever-evolving digital landscape,” said Joziwood, co-founder Mpho Mtembu (29).

Added Mtembu: “We plan on growing our client base by taking calculates risks such as presenting collaborative opportunities to clients in a proactive and unsolicited manner, therefore investing in the potential client before they even think they need our services”.

The agencies young, bold and diverse teams have managed to stay afloat and even create employment for other young people. The teams brought in a new approach on how the rest of the group engages with staff and implements projects.

The pandemic and lockdown demonstrated SPC’s agility when they seamlessly moved everyone to work from home and not only survive the pandemic but also thrive and retain staff during lockdown. “When lockdown hit us, we were quick realise that staff well-being was very important and we scheduled regular checked-up, provided them with everything they needed to ensure they could deliver the same standard of work expected; and also offered flexible working hours to allow them to rest and do home chores,” said Nosipho Ginindza, acting managing director of SPC.

Ginindza added: “To allow us to continue servicing our clients with excellence, we adapted quickly to new ways of working and revised our plans to COVID proof their strategies”.
