Matrix Group acquires shareholding in local agency Integer\Hotspot

The Matrix Communications Group (Matrix Group) has acquired a majority stake in Integer\Hotspot – a Through-The-Line (TTL) boutique agency focusing on B2C, B2B and B2S (Brands to Shoppers).  The Matrix Group identified Integer\Hotspot as an ideal agency to invest in to tap into the company’s 20-year advertising experience with strong strategy approach, extensive shopper knowledge and full service creative offering.

“The past twenty years have been phenomenal for us and as a leading integrated, full service communications and advertising agency, we are able to work and deliver for most sectors. We are looking forward to many more productive years with our new partners to continue offering value to our clients and end-users,” said Di Wilson, CEO of Integer\Hotspot.

Wilson, a former Grey Advertising Executive together with Gavin Meek – an experienced creative director, established the award winning TTL boutique agency to cater for shopper marketing needs across South Africa.

Currently, the growing tech-savvy and connected consumer presents new opportunities to real-time shopper experiences. By integrating strategic touch points, the agency offers specialised services from Point of Sale (POS) to TV including shopper marketing, brand communication and digital sampling. The agency counts companies like BIC, Adcock Ingram, GSK, Pernod Ricard and Nativa as its clients.

Kgaugelo Maphai, Matrix Group Chairperson said: “Di has managed to build a specialised, solid business. Her vision provides clients, especially during the new normal, with solutions for the informal, formal and e-commerce markets. This proves that this is a future fit company which we believe we can add value to and elevate to the next level.”

The entire leadership team and staff at Integer\Hotspot continue to drive the culture, passion and excellence expected within the agency by continuously adopting innovative and cutting edge technology and tools.

The agency also announced the appointment of Rob Collins, former Sun International Group Chief Operations Officer, as a Non-Executive Director. Rob enjoys mentoring dynamic entrepreneurs and he will share his vast experience with agency.

As a challenger agency, Integer\Hotspot plans to continue expanding its insights and key shopper marketing offering to other parts of the continent.
